Mistakes to Avoid Playing Resident Evil 2
May-31-2021
Resident Evil 2 is a really popular game and is considered the best entry in the series. I have played it numerous times, and I am still surprised by how good the game is. I have noticed that a lot of the players do not know what to do in certain situations. There are certain things that are better to do and others that are better to avoid.
I am going to write a list of things that you should avoid doing in the game. This way you will be able to have a good time with the game.
Mistake 1: Not knowing the controls
I know, I know, it's Resident Evil, not Resident Flossing. But knowing the controls will make the game so much easier. For instance, when you're in the police station, if you know the controls, you'll be able to use the typewriter to save your game, and you won't have to do the whole Quick Time Event thing.
There are also many other areas where knowing the controls will make the game easier, like using the map. And later on, the controls will make fighting zombies a lot easier.
Mistake 2: Not managing your inventory correctly
This is a big one. You need to make sure you have enough space in your inventory for the items you find. If you run out of space, it's okay to drop an item, but make sure you remember where you dropped it.
I also recommend not using weapons unless you have to since you can only hold 9 items, and it's hard to fit ammo in there. Also, weapons degrade if you use them too much, so make sure you use them sparingly, or you'll have to drop them.
Mistake 3: Spending all your bullets against zombies
The first mistake that I see a lot of people make in this game is that they spend all their bullets killing zombies. Now, don't get me wrong, killing zombies is a good thing, but there are better enemies to shoot. If you run out of bullets fighting zombies and if you don't have any health items left to heal you, then you're going to have to play through the whole scenario again.
So, it's always a good idea to make sure that you have enough bullets to deal with other enemies as well. You have to keep in mind that you'll be fighting a lot of zombies in this game, and you'll be running out of bullets fast. As I said before, make sure to spend your bullets wisely and don't just waste them on zombies.
Mistake 4: Trying to run through the game as quickly as possible
The classic survival horror formula is designed to be slow and methodical. It's about exploration, puzzle-solving, and combat. It's about being patient and learning how to deal with the threats you face. It's not about rushing through the game and trying to beat it as quickly as possible.
What's the problem with rushing through the game? It's that you miss out on a lot of what makes Resident Evil 2 special. When you rush through the game, you miss out on all of the intricate details that make it so memorable.
You miss out on the exploration and puzzle-solving, the atmosphere and jump scares, and many memorable boss battles.
Mistake 5: Trying to play it "like a normal shooter"
Resident Evil 2 is a survival horror game, not a shooter. It's not meant to be played as if it were a shooter. Most of your time will be spent using your handgun to fight off the zombies. The handgun is designed to be a close-range weapon. It's not designed for shooting enemies from far away.
When you try to play it like a normal shooter, you'll end up wasting precious ammo and health items. You'll spend too much time shooting enemies from far away, and you won't have enough ammo for when you need to defend yourself up close.
Mistake 6: Not searching every room for items
Resident Evil 2 is a game that's designed around exploration, and exploration is best done when you search every room for items. If you don't do so, you'll miss out on gunpowder, herbs, ammo, and health items that can be used for upgrading your weapons.
The more you search, the more items you'll find. The more items you find, the stronger you'll be when you come across the enemies you'll face.
Mistake 7: Not using action commands
Action Commands are special moves that can be used in battle. These moves can be used to give you an edge over your enemies. They allow you to take advantage of special opportunities that arise in battle.
Action Commands include things like shooting down a support beam to crush a zombie or shooting a zombie in the head to cause it to explode. Action Commands aren't mandatory in the game, but they'll help make the game easier.
Conclusion
Let's face it, Resident Evil 2 was a risky move for Capcom. The first game was a major hit but failed to meet the sales expectations. Instead of releasing a sequel to the original, the game development team decided to go all out on the sequel.
They changed the direction of the series by creating an open-world game and gave the player free control of the character movement. Gone were the pre-rendered backgrounds in which the character moved in a fixed perspective. The game was a huge success and has since been remade. It also marked the beginning of the survival horror genre's decline.
